DNA โ RNA โ Amino Acid
A complete sequence conversion tool for DNA, RNA, codons, three-letter amino-acid notation, and standard one-letter protein codes.
DNA Sequence
Enter a DNA sequence containing A, T, G and C.
RNA Sequence
DNA conversion changes only T โ U. RNA can also be edited manually here.
Amino Acid โ 3-Letter Code
Standard three-letter amino-acid abbreviations.
Amino Acid โ 1-Letter Code
Standard one-letter protein sequence notation.
How the converter works
DNA โ RNA:
The DNA sequence is converted by replacing
every T with U. A, C and G remain unchanged.
Spaces and line breaks are removed for sequence processing.
RNA โ Amino Acid:
RNA is read from the beginning in groups of three bases.
Each group is a codon and is translated using the
standard genetic code.
STOP:
UAA, UAG and UGA are stop codons.
They are represented as *
in the one-letter sequence and translation stops at
the first stop codon.
